Mustafizur Rahman played his last IPL 2024 match against PBKS.

Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) in-form pacer Mustafizur Rahman has penned a heartwarming note for legendary cricketer MS Dhoni after leaving the team’s camp midway through the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

The left-arm speedster was bought by CSK at the 2024 mini-auction for his base price of INR 2 crores. After playing his last match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rahman returned back to his home country Bangladesh on May 1.

In the ongoing tournament, Mustafizur was the most successful bowler for the defending champions. In the nine matches he played, the Bangladesh pacer scalped 14 wickets at an economy of 9.26, with best bowling figures of 4/29.

However, in CSK’s last match against PBKS, Rahman went wicket-less in his quota of four overs and had match figures of 0/22, including one maiden and an economy of 5.50.

Thanks for everything Mahi bhai: Mustafizur Rahman’s emotional note for former CSK skipper

After returning to his home country, the 28-year-old Rahman shared a post on his ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle where he thanked wicket-keeper batter Dhoni and also wrote a heartwarming note for him. The former Indian captain gifted him a signed CSK jersey and also clicked a picture with the Bangladesh pacer.

“Thanks for everything Mahi bhai. It was a special feeling to share the same dressing room with a legend like you. Thanks for keeping faith in me every time. Appreciating your valuable tips, I will remember those things. Looking forward to meeting and playing with you again soon,” Mustafizur Rahman wrote on ‘X.’

Here is the post:

Why has Mustafizur Rahman returned to Bangladesh?

The left-arm pacer was granted a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) until May 1 to play in IPL 2024.

However, the main reason behind BCB granting him an NOC until May 1 was that the Bangladesh cricket team will host a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The series will be played from May 3-12.
