Report reveals the Argentine job isn’t safe for next season

After the season, Mauricio Pochettino’s position may not be secure because Chelsea are reportedly getting ready for another turbulent summer.

The Argentine has led the team in a fairly poor campaign thus far, and the club’s administration must decide whether to continue working with him or not.

After Tuesday night’s 5-0 loss to Arsenal, Chelsea reached all-time lows, with many supporters demanding that the 52-year-old be replaced.

According to Telegraph Sport, a majority decision about Pochettino’s future after the season is over has not been made.

After consecutive losses to Manchester City and Arsenal, the former Tottenham manager is under increasing pressure, as many supporters have expressed disapproval of some of his choices.

According to The Telegraph, Pochettino continues to have the backing of the team, and it’s understood that he’s been dealing with a difficult set of circumstances.

There is a feeling that he cannot bear full responsibility for the challenges he has encountered in West London since he was not in charge of the transfer strategy or the choice to assemble such a youthful team.

Mauricio Pochettino agreed to a two-year contract last summer with the option of a third year, and it has always been the intention to have a meeting to talk about his future at the conclusion of the current campaign.

With Aston Villa and Spurs up following in a challenging six-game run, the Blues will have a difficult task to make the cut for European competition next season after failing to win any trophy this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s opportunities of remaining at Stamford Bridge would be further harmed if European football was not secured, but it is rumoured that the board recognises that maintaining the former manager of Paris Saint-Germain would bring much-needed stability after two years of nonstop turmoil.

Whatever transpires, west London is expected to have another hectic summer with many arrivals and departures, maybe including the hiring of a third management in less than two years.
