6,6,6,6 [Watch] Rajat Patidar smashes Mayank Markande for four consecutive sixes in SRH vs RCB match
Rajat Patidar scored 50 off 20 deliveries with two fours and five sixes.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad is now hosting a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). After winning the toss, RCB chose to bat first, perhaps in an effort to pose a difficult target for SRH’s in-form batting order.
SRH batters have been sensational while setting a target. The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen have inflicted terror in the minds of the opposition bowlers. RCB might not have wanted to give SRH batters the early advantage and instead put them under the required run-rate pressure. Everyone is on the edge of their seats as the game progresses.
Rajat Patidar smashes Mayank Markande for four consecutive sixes
In the 11th over of the first innings, Rajat Patidar went all guns blazing, which swung the momentum in RCB’s favour. Even though Patidar hasn’t been great as of late, his fifty against KKR was a much-needed return to form for him.
In this match, in the over against Mayank Markande, he enthralled the audience with a string of four consecutive sixes. In a remarkable 27-run over, Patidar utterly destroyed Markande’s bowling by sending the ball soaring to all sides of the field with ease. Markande had no clue as he bowled four different types of deliveries, and each of them was smashed for a six. On second ball of the over, Patidar smashed his first six of the over-over long off. On the third ball, Patidar smashed the second six on the leg side. He smashed the third six of the over deep mid-wicket. The final six of the over was yet another mighty six over the long-on region.

Meanwhile, with only two points from eight games, RCB find themselves in a precarious position as the match draws near. Given their lackluster performances so far, it’s reasonable to assume that their aspirations for playoffs are already over.
At the same time, SRH are in a good situation; they’re currently placed third with 10 points after seven games. Their strong performances have placed them in the hunt for a berth in the playoffs. Their batters are in some dangerous form and smashing every bowler for fun. We have to wait and see if they can defeat RCB for the second time this season.
