Jos Buttler has gone past Chris Gayle’s record of 6 IPL tons with his 7th century in the league.

Jos Buttler played an all-time great knock for his team Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 16, 2024, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bat first. KKR opened with Sunil Narine and Phil Salt, however despite receiving a lifeline, KKR lost an early wicket in the form of Phil Salt, who was caught and bowled by Avesh Khan for 10 runs.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi (30) and Sunil Narine contributed an important 85 runs for the second wicket, with Narine smashing the RR spinners all over the Eden Gardens pitch. Aside from him, Rinku Singh hit 20* in 8 balls to help KKR reach 223/6 after 20 overs.

Sunil Narine, on the other hand, dominated the Kolkata Knight Riders innings. Narine, who was playing his 504th T20 match, finally scored his first T20 hundred. He scored 109 runs, with 13 fours and six sixes.

Then Jos Buttler took over the chase on his own, with some help from Rovman Powell, who hit 26 in 13 balls. Buttler struck a superb century, leading RR home unbeaten on 107 in 60 balls, with 6 sixes and 9 fours.

RR won the match by two wickets after chasing down 224 runs on the final ball of the match, equaling their record for the biggest chase ever in IPL.
