Colombia vs Brazil: Predicted lineup, injury news, head-to-head, telecast
The November international break is upon us
In the last World Cup qualifiers, Colombia missed out on the trip to Qatar, which was a big disappointment for a nation used to seeing its team among the best. Despite being unbeaten in the past 15 games with ten wins and five draws, Nestor Lorenzo’s team has had a streak of three consecutive draws recently in the CONMEBOL qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Up next, they face a Brazil side whose performances have been below expectations. After a 1-1 draw at home against Venezuela and a painful defeat in Uruguay, the Selecao is languishing in the standings. The team lacks chemistry and appears more like a group of individuals than cohesive players. Issues in the defence that surfaced during the World Cup in Qatar persist, and there’s a notable absence of playmakers who seem ready to step up in the absence of Neymar.
But as they prepare to face Colombia the Brazilians will make sure to keep their opponents at bay. If not, then the Colombians can leapfrog in the standings.

Injury and team news
Colombia’s team news:
Hernández joins Mosquera on Colombia’s team, making it two MLS players. The 22-year-old centre-back, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, debuted last month, coming in late against Uruguay and starting in a goalless draw with Ecuador. Cucho, Columbus’ No. 9 and record signing from Watford FC, eyes his first World Cup qualifiers. With two international goals against Costa Rica in 2018, he hopes to contribute more after a recent appearance in a January match against the United States.
Brazil’s team news:
Brazil, a five-time World Cup champion, faces challenges in the current qualifiers. A 2-0 loss to Uruguay and a surprising 1-1 tie with Venezuela in October raised concerns. Star striker Neymar’s left ACL rupture adds pressure, leaving Brazil without their top player for crucial matches against Colombia and Argentina on Nov. 21. Despite these setbacks, Brazil is in a three-way tie for second place in the Conmebol standings. They have an impressive record of never missing any of the previous 22 World Cups and are likely to secure a spot in 2026.
