Mohammad Yasir is one of Manolo Marquez’s most trusted lieutenants.
Young Indian attacking midfielder Mohammad Yasir has terminated his contract with Hyderabad FC and has signed a permanent deal with FC Goa. The midfield player was loaned out to Goa from Hyderabad in January and was expected to remain until the conclusion of the campaign.
But, Yasir has extended his stay with the Gaurs with a permanent deal after receiving a provisional release from the All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) player status committee.
According to the Times of India (TOI), Yasir lodged an official complaint to the AIFF about Hyderabad FC not paying his dues for multiple months. Following Article 17 of the AIFF’s player status and transfer regulations, he exercised his right to terminate the contract and followed the necessary procedures.
Hyderabad FC accepted his decision and granted him an NOC and conveyed the same to the AIFF through an email. However, the player status committee had to take action because Hyderabad FC delayed the permission.
Yasir brought an end to his long standing relationship with Hyderabad FC earlier this month which also terminated his loan agreement with FC Goa. And as a result he was left without a club for sometime and couldn’t participate in FC Goa’s last ISL clash against Bengaluru FC before the international window.
Mohammad Yasir at FC Goa
Mohammad Yasir made a switch to FC Goa in the winter and has hit the ground running for the Gaurs. He has always been one of Manolo Marquez’s most trusted players ever since the Spaniard moved to India. The midfielder has made seven appearances for FC Goa this season while scoring two goals and providing one assist.
His creativity and ability to make things happen makes him one of FC Goa’s best performing and impactful players this season. Moreover, he is now eligible for the upcoming match, which is scheduled for April 5 against Hyderabad FC.
