PSG were bowed out of competition by Dortmund 2-0
When asked which side he would support between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the other UCL semi-final, Kylian Mbappe left the interview. Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 aggregate loss to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday sent them sailing out of the Champions League.
Mbappe failed to lead his team to European success in what seems to be his final season at PSG before a possible transfer to Real.
In the second leg, the French powerhouse had opportunities but failed to find the back of the net, setting an unwelcome Champions League record. Mats Hummels scored a goal just after halftime as Dortmund defeated PSG 1-0 in both the legs.
And when PSG were eliminated, Mbappe was asked who he would back in the other semifinal match. But he made a priceless face, refused to respond, and turned to leave the group of reporters.
The 25-year-old declined to make any predictions for the semifinal matchup tonight due to rumours that he would be making a transfer to the Spanish team next summer.
Talking about PSG and the UCL, Mbappe said:
“It’s long process to win the Champions League and I’m sure PSG are not far from that”. “We are sad tonight, we’re disappointed”.

PSG manager Luis Enrique on Dortmund
PSG manager Luis Enrique stated that he hopes Dortmund will go all the way and win the ‘Big Ears’ trophy in London, but he did not make any prediction for Real vs. Bayern.
The Spanish manager said:
“We wit the post 6 times, we had 31 shots on goal… but we didn’t score. It feels impossible to believe this”.
“Our xG tonight has been 3, BVB’s xG has been around 0.7… they scored, we didn’t”. “This is football. We accept the verdict. Congrats to BVB”.
As their attempt to become the only French team to win the UCL failed once more, Mbappe’s time with PSG in the Champions League is probably coming to an end with this defeat. The attacker joined the Ligue 1 team in 2018 and has since won over a dozen domestic trophies, but they have yet to win the biggest award.
After hosting Toulouse on Sunday night in Ligue 1 action, PSG will travel to Nice on May 15, while either Madrid or Bayern will play Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley on June 1.
