Cody Rhodes returned to WWE in 2022 and made a huge impact on the active roster with his new “American Nightmare” gimmick. Ever since his return, he has been teasing finishing his story by dethroning Roman Reigns and becoming the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Cody got a shot at WrestleMania 39 after winning the 2023 Royal Rumble and came shortly after The Bloodline involvement.
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finally managed to finish his story by ending Roman Reigns’ 1316 days Universal Championship reign. Cody Rhodes claimed that it would be a new start, as the company claims it to be a new era. Cody is now just two weeks into his Undisputed WWE Championship reign, however it seems fans are already getting tired of his title reign.
