[WATCH] Chad Gable confronts CM Punk during off-air promo after 4/26 WWE SmackDown

“The Best in the World” picked up an injury during the men’s 2024 Royal Rumble match

CM Punk has been on hiatus for a long time for his right tricep muscle tear, which he suffered during his WWE in-ring return at Royal Rumble 2024. Punk however managed to appear on the road to WrestleMania on a few important occasions and at WrestleMania 40 to cost Drew McIntyre’s Championship. Punk showed up the following night to cost Drew’s title opportunity again.

The Second City Saint was not seen then, however WWE advertised him for both the Draft nights. Although Punk was announced for the recent episode of Smackdown, he was not seen on television. However, fan footage revealed that Punk had shown up after SmackDown went off air.

CM Punk after SmackDown went off air came to the ring to cut a quick live microphone session. The Second City Saint addressed the WWE Universe, ongoing WWE Draft and his injury.

“Big things going on here in the WWE. The draft was today. The draft continues Monday. I felt compelled to come out here and speak to my friends in Cincinnati. I have missed you. Take a moment to look around at this place. Y’all packed this house. We couldn’t do this without each and every single one of you, so on behalf of everybody backstage, in front of and behind the camera, we humbly thank you very, very much.

“I want to give a little update. My tricep is not 100% yet, but I am on track, and I promise, soon, I will be back, and I will be competing with all of the big, tough badasses backstage.”

Punk continued to speak about Baseball Hall of Famer, Pete Rose saying,

“For me, it’s fun watching a lot of the young superstars mixing with the Hall of Famers out here to announce draft picks, but ladies and gentlemen, I am in Cincinnati. If we’re gonna talk about the Hall of Fame in Cincinnati, we’re gonna talk about Pete Rose! I’m going to use my platform to stump this. It’s not really a hot take. Pete Rose belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame!”‘

Chad Gable’s confrontation & Sheamus’ interaction

While CM Punk spoke about Cincinnati’ Hallo Famer, Chad Gable with Alpha Academy members interfered with him. Gable claimed Pete Rose was a cheater and told that he should have been banned for life time. Punk went on to address Gable’s loss to Sami Zayn in Montreal.

Gable was pissed off and thought of teaching a lesson to Punk, but he called out Sheamus to handle the business for him. As Sheamus arrived, Punk greeted him and left the ring.
